Series of documents directed to stirring up projects in innovation area inked in Belarus

During the Council of Heads of Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States meeting a series of documents directed to stirring up projects in innovation have been signed. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov informed media in the process of his working visit to Belarus, Government Portal reports.
«Today we have inked a considerable number of documents which determine cooperation in the CIS framework. The main documents signed by us belong to key cooperation lines such as cooperation in innovation sphere, cooperation in protection of the environment and a series of other crucial agreements,» Mykola Azarov said.
In particular, according to him, there have been approved innovation projects in the CIS frames with CIS budget financing to the tune of USD 190 mln envisaged for these aims and drawing USD 32 mln of non-budget funds.
The mentioned projects attracted specialists of the Skolkovo Foundation and scientific institutions of the CIS countries who expressed the desire to participate in them.
Notably, the parties agreed on creating Patent and Innovation Bank in the CIS states; technologies ofnanodiamonds and microcristalline diamonds which will afford creation of extra strong cutting tools; super computer centers in the CIS states and apparatus and hardware complex for the management of transport corridors in the CIS; introduction of monitoring and forecast of emergency situations from space etc.
Mykola Azarov stressed at today’s sitting of the Council of heads of governments of CIS states there had been considered issues of joining Uzbekistan to a free trade area agreement in the CIS.
