Ukraine has made a progress in implementing reforms for the conclusion of an Association Agreement with the EU

The representative of the European Parliament Libor Roucek during a meeting with Mykola Azarov in Kyiv on May 16 gave a positive assessment of the reforms that are carried out in the country now, Mykola Azarov Official Website reports.
"Economic issues should be a priority in relations between Ukraine and the EU. Politicians from different countries shall unite for the sake of economic growth, decline in unemployment, etc. In this regard, the Association Agreement, a free trade area agreement is extremely important and we need to focus on this the European politician said. In recent months, Ukraine has made a significant progress in implementing reforms and meeting the requirements of the EU for the conclusion of the Association Agreement. "
Libor Roucek also noted a significant role of the Monitoring mission consisting of former presidents Kwasniewski and Cox that was initiated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.
Mykola Azarov, in turn, informed the high-ranking guest about the necessary reforms that are being implemented by Ukraine for the sake of signing the Association Agreement and thanked the Board of the European Commission for their decision to continue preparations for Vilnius summit.
"We are now preparing for the Council the EU-Ukraine. In my opinion, the preparation is going well and I hope that we will not have the questions that can lead to misunderstanding on the part of our European partners, "- Head of the Ukrainian Government said.
He also said that the Cabinet of Ministers had adopted a programme of economy revitalization and planned to reach GDP growth equal to about 3% by the end of the year.
