Putin and Merkel take part in opening of annual industrial fair in Hannover

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel gave a start to the work of the Russian exposition at the Hannover Industrial Fair (Hannover Messe), which takes place on April 8 — 12.
Representing the Russian participation in the Hanover Fair, Vladimir Putin said that Russia was represented at the forum by «160 companies from 20 regions», whose samples of products were placed on the area of 5 thousand square meters, Voice of Russia reports.
«There are not only well-known giants, which successfully work in the sphere of energy, but also companies, successfully working in mechanical engineering, electronics, and biomedicine,» Putin said.
According to him, «thus, visitors of the exhibition can form a clear picture of the diversification of the Russian economy». «I’m sure it will be interesting for specialists», — the President stressed.
Yesterday the leaders of the two countries took part in the opening ceremony of the forum, and today they conduct a joint review of the exhibition.

The Hanover Fair is the world’s largest industrial show, which is held since 1947. Last year only, the International exhibition of high technologies, innovations and industrial automation «Hannover Messe» was visited by about 200 thousand people.
160 companies and enterprisesparticipate in the Russian exposition, among which are «Gazprom», «Rosneft», «Russian Railways», «Rosnano», «Russian technologies», «Skolkovo», «Uralvagonzavod».
