Flooding situation in Kyiv is stable, Popov says

The situation with flooding in Kyiv is stable on the whole, head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov said during a visit to the Bortnychi aeration station, ForUm reports referring to the city administration press service.
«The peak load on rainwater drainage and sewer facilities is withstood. The Bortnychi aeration station is operating normally. The situation of flooding in the city is stable on the whole,» he said.
However, according to Popov, the operational headquarters for elimination of consequences of emergencies continues working. «Kyiv residents call to headquarters and warned of possible flooding in certain places of the city, and this helps to avoid the negative effects of snowmelt. It is important that the public utilities of the city promptly and effectively respond to these messages of people,» Popov said.
According to the KCSA head, the private sector of Zhulyany district remains a troubled section, where now professionals complete works on the elimination of flooding of the private estate.
In addition, divers had also started exploring underwater communication of the capital, Popov added.
In turn, chairman of the board of the PJSC Kyivvodocanal Kyiv water supply company Valery Chenchevoy reported that on April 1, the Bortnychi aeration station received a record number of flood runoff - 1 million 80 thousand cubic meters. In normal operation, the station usually gets 800 thousand cubic meters of waste water during a day.
