The Cabinet of the Ministers is going to receive the credit for mortgage purchases of grain in Deutsche Bank
14.03.2003 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) - The Cabinet of the Ministers is going to draw 120 mn EUR in Deutsche Bank for realization of mortgage purchases of grain in 2003. According to the vice-prime minister for the questions of agro-industrial complex Ivan Kirilenko, the bank has already opened the credit line, and the Ukrainian government expects to receive money in February. As he said, the state joint-stock company "Bread of Ukraine" will dispose with this credit. Most probably it will carry out the mortgage purchases of the foodstuffs. Ivan Kirilenko also has told, that the mortgage purchase of grain will be conducted in August. Cost of storage of the mortgage grain will be no more than 3 UAH/MT per one month. Agrarians will reimburse it to grain elevator during the returning of the mortgage production. Essential rise of the grain prices is not expected up to the end of the current marketing year. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy does not expect an essential rise of the grain prices up to the end of the current marketing year (July 2003) and predicts the size of their growth at the level of 10-15%. The first deputy of the state secretary of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy Uriy Luzan has informed journalists about it. He has told: "The balance of grain shows that there is grain at the Ukrainian market. For this reason there will be not significant growth of the grain prices". According to the data of the market analysts, the holders offered 3rd grade wheat at 670 UAH/MT in the period from February 8 till February 14, while the bid prices were at the level of 610-620 UAH/MT.
