Mohylev: Social card is a long-term investment

On June 11, the Crimea citizens entitled to benefits began to receive «Crimea social card».
On March 15, the Council of Ministers of Crimea signed a Memorandum of understanding with the commercial networks and public organizations to implement the «Crimea social card» regional program.
This program was developed by the Government of the Crimea in order to improve the social protection of the privileged categories of citizens. Under the program, senior citizens, veterans, multi-child families, Chernobyl veterans, the disabled and other vulnerable categories of citizens will be able to purchase goods at a discount from 3 to 7 percent.
«This is a unique initiative for Crimea, due to its scale and implementation at the national level. The social network is to cover all the regions of Crimea, including rural ones and to link the government, the socially responsible enterprises and the residents of Crimea,» the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anatoly Mohylev said, ForUm learned from the Council’s spokesman.
«Under the program, more than 500 thousand Crimea citizens will benefit from a discount of up to 7 percent for goods, food, services and medical products. Nine major categories of privileged citizens are to get the discount card. In addition, the local authorities of Crimea are to prepare additional lists of citizens who will also become the participants of the program. The list will include employees of health, education, culture and other spheres. The Crimea citizens will be able to get the cards at the labor and social protection departments at place of residence. About 60,000 of war and labor veterans will receive a card at home,» the official statement says.
More than 270 trade, services and pharmacy entities have joined the program. Mogilev has expressed confidence that the socially responsible businessmen will continue to join the initiative of the Council of Ministers.
