Ukrainian delegation led by Yuriy Boyko to participate in session of CIS Economic Council

On December 13, 2013, a Ukrainian delegation led by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko has set off for Moscow to participate in the 60th session of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of
Independent States, Government Portal reports.
The Ukrainian delegation is comprised of First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Ruslan Demchenko, Deputy Minister of Industrial Policy of Ukraine Nataliya Boytsun, head of the State Space Agency of Ukraine YuriyAlekseyev, Director General of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine Ruslan Illichyov.
During the 60th session of the CIS Economic Council it is planned to consider a series of important issues among which are, in particular, questions concerning a process of elaboration of a draft Agreement on the transit by pipeline transport of CIS participating states; concerning a draft Agreement on cooperation in exchange of scientific-technical information; the state and hot problems of improvement of statistic activity in the CIS area; the Action Plan of CIS countries on border cooperation for 2014 - 15; a draft Interstate radionavigation program of CIS participating states up to 2016; activity of the Council of heads of customs services of CIS member countries; the state of electronic informational resources to support the innovation activity in CIS member countries etc.
The Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States is the principal executive body called to ensure implementation of agreements approved in the CIS framework, decisions of the Council of heads of states and the Council of heads of governments of the Commonwealth concerning forming and functioning of a free trade area and other issues of social-economic cooperation, it takes decisions concerning issues within the competency and also on commission of the Council of heads of states and Council of heads of governments of the CIS.
It should be noted, 2014 is the year of Ukraine’s CIS chairmanship.
